OEE calculator
Calculate availability, performance and quality from shift data and see where the lost time went.
Result
Where the planned time went
This is not a benchmark target. Validate data scope before investigating the causes of losses.
Calculation method
Run time = planned time − downtime. Availability = run time / planned time. Performance = ideal cycle (s) × total count / run time (s). Quality = good count / total count. OEE = availability × performance × quality.
Loss breakdown: downtime loss = stoppage time; speed loss = run time − the time the output would take at ideal cycle; quality loss = the ideal cycle time of the rejected units. These three plus good production time add up to the planned time.

How is OEE calculated?
OEE is the product of availability, performance and quality. This tool calculates the three ratios and total OEE from shift data. See the glossary for the definition.
What if performance exceeds 100%?
The tool does not clamp the result; it asks you to check the ideal cycle time, counts and time units. Performance above 100% usually points to a wrong ideal cycle time.
What is a good OEE value?
There is no single universal target; the value depends on your definitions, product and line. Fix the definitions first, then follow change over time using the same definition.
