Product

From shop floor to enterprise.
A clearly defined data flow.

OPC Router is an industrial integration platform for configuring data exchange between machines, databases, ERP and cloud systems using visual workflows.

How it works

Connect. Transform. Transfer.

Choose a step to see its responsibility and the checks that matter.

Choose the plug-in for your source. Verify endpoint, certificates and read permissions. Preserve source timestamps and quality information.

Anatomy of a workflow

Four parts, one logic.

Every workflow follows the same order. Answering these four questions is enough to scope a project.

  1. 01

    Trigger

Defines what starts a workflow: when it runs, on which event and with which data.

  2. 02

    Connection

Talks to source and destination systems through plug-ins; read and write permissions are defined here.

  3. 03

    Transformation

Maps data type, unit and schema to the target; adds custom processing with JSON, XML or .NET C# steps.

  4. 04

    Destination action

Writes the record to the target and makes delivery, errors and retries observable.

What does it handle?

  • Data exchange between standard interfaces
  • Workflow configuration with triggers and visual connections
  • Data transformation and delivery to destinations
  • Buffering and redundancy through selected add-ons

What do we validate?

Product version, Windows or Docker environment, connector licences, external SDK requirements and destination transaction behaviour are reviewed together. PLC drivers, ERP business logic and the reporting layer are scoped separately.

Current manufacturer system requirements

Who is it for?

Teams asking different questions of the same data.

Automation engineers

Carry tags, certificates and source quality safely.

Guides

Production managers

Prepare OEE, energy and traceability reports without manual collection.

Solutions

IT/OT teams

Make placement, access and continuity decisions in a shared language.

Glossary

System integrators

Define project scope and acceptance criteria up front.

Frequently asked questions about OPC Router

Does OPC Router replace SCADA or MES?

No. It does not replace those systems; it is used to configure data exchange between them and with databases, ERP and the cloud. See this article for the roles of SCADA, MES and ERP.

Which environments does it run in?

Windows and Docker environments are used. Product version, environment and add-on support are reviewed together; check the manufacturer’s current system requirements.

Is data lost during an outage?

Buffering add-ons such as Store & Forward can hold data during an outage, but buffers have finite capacity and no unconditional “zero data loss” guarantee is made. Estimate capacity with the buffer calculator.

What should I prepare to start?

One source, one destination, a representative sample record and an acceptance criterion are enough. The readiness check shows gaps; the planner outlines the first scope.
